Research interests

My main interests are veterinary medical mycology in terrestric and aquatic animals, and mycology in a One Health perspective; animal, human and environmental health. Food- and feed mycology are also of my main interest. I have experience in mycological diagnostics including identification of pathogenic and toxigenic fungi and fungi in general. I especially enjoy studying morphological characteristics both macroscopically and microscopically.

Current topics of interest are the appearance of novel species of fungi in Norway due to climate change and the development of azole resistance in fungi.

Background

Graduated as a veterinarian (Cand. Med. Vet.) from the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science (NVH) in 1995. Started to work at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute (NVI) in 1998. I am responsible for mycological diagnostics at NVI.
